Camino de Santiago: On your mark!!!

Landing in Biarritz, France

Yesterday, I flew from Yerevan, Armenia to Paris, France. I’m so happy that I booked a hotel room near the airport. My flight was delayed by five hours! Today, I flew from Paris to Biarritz.

The Rock of the Virgin Mary is an iconic Biarritz landmark.

I’m giving myself a few days, before making my way to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and the Camino de Santiago. Biarritz is the perfect pre Camino town. The weather has been great here!

Testing out my Camino hat and hiking sandals.

I’m, of course, walking 500 miles, over hilly terrain, that typically takes thirty five days to complete, for a seasoned hiker. I don’t hike. I haven’t trained! I just purchased shoes in Yerevan and my backpack and poles in Biarritz.

Hey, I wasn’t ready to grow up in inner city Detroit. I think I did OK! Onward and upward, the French Pyrenees ain’t got nothing on the Motor City! XOXO — GGT
