Had to Share: Derry The Walled City!

I had my very first Sunday Roast in Derry
The Londonderry view from the wall.
I exited the gate and walked down to Free Derry.

Learned so much about the Bloody Sunday Inquiry and the Northern Ireland peace process at Guildhall.
The Tower Museum is great for local history (7000 bc to the present)
The Derry Girls Experience is the first exhibition at the Tower Museum
The Derry Walls are approximately a mile in circumference and a very walkable
My hotel was a thirty minute bus ride from downtown. The WiFi was horrible, but the food was good.
There’s an underpass to get from the (return bus stop) to the hotel. I always make it back, just before dark.

I’m really glad that I decided to spend two weeks in Belfast and another two weeks in Derry. I know so many people who just spend a day or two, in each, then head back to the Republic. I could easily spend my entire UK six month visa, visiting each of the six counties, in Northern Ireland.

Now that I think about it …. that sounds like a great idea! I have another four years to go. If I get burned out … I’ll be back! XOXO —GGT

  1. Love this! Honestly, I’ve never even considered visiting the North and this makes me want to. Interesting how some places just feel right for us, don’t you think? Worth paying attention to! Looking forward to more!
